Those are powerful findings from the largest and most comprehensive arts impact study ever conducted—Arts & Economic Prosperity IV—which launched on June 8. How does your community stack up? Be sure to download summaries from a community near you as well as detailed findings from the study. This is What Loveland's Creative Sector is Doing
The power of a cluster comes through the value of networking, shared resources, collaborative opportunities, supportive civic environment and the place making that provides an active and interesting lifestyle for employees. In Loveland, these benefits are available and widespread throughout the creative sector. In the directories section, a listing of these innovative companies is available including robotics, clean energy fuel sources, engineering, publishing, design, craft brewing and more.
- An available skilled workforce (8% of Loveland’s workforce is in the creative sector with over $100 million in payroll annually)
- A cluster facilitator to manage the expectations of the cluster
- A workable budget
Through the Office of Creative Sector Development, these criteria are met and will continue to be expanded upon for the benefit of the cluster, Cluster Initiative Green Book by Dr. Michael Porter. Valuable resources that already exist for entrepreneurs and innovative companies:
- Access to directory listing of existing individuals and business for cross-pollination and support
- Two networking groups – Artists Collective and Innovation After Hours
- Supportive civic policy through support of the OCSD, capital campaigns and downtown revitalization plan, plus business incentives program
- 24/7 access to key commercial accounts specialist
- 3rd lowest utility rates in the state
- Agilent re-development- Partnership amongst the City of Loveland, NASA and the developer Cumberland and Western, expected to bring thousands of new jobs to the area and provide additional collaborative resources and patents to the campus
- Active artist population that enriches the community with live performances, exhibits, public art, attractions/events that encourage out of area visitation and creative diversity which all contribute to the placemaking needed for a vibrant city and region
